Switches
Archway Tavern, London, July 7th 06
By Zarina Raja
London based Switches are undoubtedly the best new power pop indie ensemble to date. They successfully weaved their fast, poppy and well polished songs out to a devoted crowd as the voice of lead singer Matt Bishop carried each song with admirable energy. The lead guitarist treated the audience as he flirted with his guitar with magnificent precision, whilst the bassist concentrated intently on obeying the skilled movement of his fingers. A persistent drummer beat his drums with delicious enthusiasm helping Switches to glide through a fresh set of catchy songs resulting in an undeniably vigorous performance. After having already toured with The Rakes, Graham Coxon and The Automatic, Switches are definitely something to look out for in the mainstream London music scene.
