COMPETITION: Win tickets to see Wolfmother live

This competition is now closedwolf.jpg

Wolfmother... you've heard of them, you know they rock and you want to see them live right?

They may beat the Brits in cricket (ouch) but they're forgiven for their output of great music... if you can't beat them, join them. So, we've decided to treat you to a post-Australia Day treat - the chance to win a pair of tickets to see them play live on Tuesday 6th February 2007 at London's Hammersmith Apollo. We aren't giving the 2 tickets away for nowt though... you have to work for it.

Use the comment section to tell us the most memorable gig/concert you've ever been to. We're talking the good, the bad and the downright awful. The more creative the better. Go on, think hard.

You've got until Monday 5th Feb. The winner will be contacted by email so make sure you enter the correct one when you submit your comment. If you won't be able to check your email on Monday afternoon, enter by sending us an email with your entry and contact details.

If you don't like to leave things to luck, get your tickets here.

Good luck!

I saw Tumbleweed play at the Tivoli in Adelaide, South Australia. An amazing gig... intimate and smoky - just the way it should be. Met the guys after too - a happy stroke of luck.

I saw Silverchair at the Big Day Out years ago... I was small back then and got the absolute stuffing belted out of me in the mosh pit. Security had to pull me out and take me for medical treatment. I lapped it up then headed straight back in for a second serving of the knuckle sandwich.

Dirty Pretty Things at a TMobile Street gig, amazing atmosphere from the moment we arrived, the venue at London Bridge was surreal you had to walk through these undergound arches which were eerily lit to get to where they played. The boys came on and really gave it their all, it was sweaty, energetic, and gritty and we couldn't get enough...

my most memorable was when i was about 16, lost prophets @ hammersmith palais, was awesome, tiny venue with only a few hundred people. got battered in my first mosh pit and went crowd surfing, my first attempt saw me falling straight to the floor when everyone stepped aside instead of catching me but i got back up and did it again, good times :-)

The first concert i ever went to when i was 11 years old - Silverchair... When the song Cemetery came on everyone who had a lighter on them lit them up and waved them above their heads while swaying to the song.. a nice break after a few 'head-banging' songs... looked amazing from an 11 year olds eyes!!

It would have to be Live8. To be one of the lucky few to get a ticket was amazing. Most of the acts were brilliant, though I used Dido and Joss Stone for toilet and food breaks and I stand by the fact that I was the one who started the "do the dance" chant when Ricky Gervais came on stage

Kylie at Earl's Court a few years back... almost got drown in glitter from the Queens next to me but ut just added to the vibe. The train ride on the way home was hilarious - men in spandex, hot pants and feather boas. Not to mention my girlfriend's little get-up. I'll take her to every Kylie concert if it means I get an eyefull each time!

a tough one.... But i think my first ever proper gig of choice has to do it for me.. (excluding ones I'd tagged along to with me dad...).. It was back in 1992 ish and going to Hip Hop shows wasnt as easy as it was today... - as a surrey based lad all the big shows were at the very, very scary brixton academy.... - I had a lot of mates at the time that had run into stick ups at gigs at the time but I plucked up the courage and me and 2 mates, Karl and Eli went to see the man that ruled the hip hop game back then.. Ice Cube. Obviously he has fallen the hell off now but back then he was king.. this gig was soooo good, so much energy, so many hits I can remember standing on my chair and pumping my fist non stop for 2 hours... We got out in one piece and had the best time ever.. unforgettable!

Hmmm, so many gigs - so many great hedonistic times!! But i think the best has to be Metallica at the Download Festival '06. Ok, ok to begin with they were a little, aherm, crap! But they walked off, re-composed themselves and then out of nowhere came this video feed, telling us the wonder of "master of Puppets". James Hetfield came back on stage and asked the crowd "who bought 'master of puppets' when it first came out?" the crowd mumbled away - well most of them were not even born (including me!). So James responded, "well, who's got it now?" *Crowd screams* "well thats what matters, you're here and you're digging it!". They then devoted the entire set to singing the entire album and let me tell you, it was AWESOME! There's no other word for it! This is why Metallica are one of the greats (if not THE greatest). This set erased all the wrong doing of St Anger! ;-)

The View-Islington Academy 27th Jan 2007 Cramed in to a smallish, swetty, beer infested venue. We made our way to the bar only to have to wait about half hour to get served.Disgusting.So far not to good.Oh well we can only hope.Ripcord are the support band they get a rather mixed review from the crowd some people cheering whereas some people still screaming the well known chant amongst view fans "The View The View The View are on fire". So Ripcords set comes to an end and within half hour The View come running on stage and the place erupts to the opening song, which happens to also be the opening song on the album 'Comin Down' the place is going wild when they stop for a breather themselves, and kick straight back in with there anthem 'same jeans' I have not been in a crowd like this for ages. The final song is another hit of theres 'Superstar Tradesman' which gets the crowd even more lively with i think nearly everyone in the audience crowd surfing at least one, or at least thats what it felt like. The only downside is they made a very qucik exist which makes me think are they gonna start to get a bit to big to quick? I guess well just have to watch this space

Scissor Sisters Trafalgar Square: i was one of the lucky few to win tickets to this, and what a night. the whole square was lit in red. the crowd all wore red (think 5000 red feather bowers and bowler hats). and they all danced in the fountains much to the horror of the security guards and egging on from the crowd. this was one concert when you didn't need drink or drugs, just some moves and some space. we moved away from the crowds and made our own dancefloor. then everyone else followed. and we were filthy gorgeous.

Hmm!!?? By far Hilltops at Adelaide Uni at 530 in the morning!. They were doing an appearance for Adam& Wills Triple j Brekky show. Me and my friends got there at 5am loaded with a bag of goon(fruity lexia- only the best!!!) along with a few hundred other people. Once we finished the bag we used it for a pillow whilst listening to our fav hilltops tracks, Finished just in time for our first class of the day!, the most memorable gig yet!!

I saw Pearl Jam play last year in a stadium just out of Barcelona. They were amazing and the atmosphere was incredible as no one could speak English. Wolfmother supported them and lead singer, Andrew Stockdale, came out to sing a few songs with them which was incredible. We were speachless after!!

I would have to say either my first concert: seeing Offspring in Sydney with a group of my mates from school, all in lame matching t-shirts and high on glucodin tablets ... or getting getting bruised and battered (but holding my place at the front of the mosh pit) at a Bodyjar gig at our local.
