ONE-TWO : O-Hot Brain
Four Music. Released 23 April 2007
By Peter Coulston
This is not really an album at all, more an EP containing four remixes of the same track from One-Twos album Love Again. The electro popsters from Paris have engaged the skills of diverse mixers which means that most people will like some tracks more than others.
The CD opens with the original, which is bass and drum driven and certainly makes you want to dance. The filthy dukes society mix is on similar lines to the original but gets more jazzy with some melodic synthesiser thrown in. Pedro and panamas mix was a little too off the wall and repetitive for my taste, certainly in the beginning. It gets more interesting later on though. The radioclit remix was my favourite; it was rocky and the only place on the CD where I could find any of the sixties pop influence that the pair are famous for.
