EE-side: The Unknown Stuntman Outlaw
Review by Christina Warner
Opening to the epic vocals of poet Charles Bukowskis contemplation of the meaning of style Outlaw is backed by a deliciously melancholy mariachi trumpet. Asking thee listener to take a few seconds to wonder where The Unknown Stuntman is taking us and bang! a D n B beat opens fire like mad gunmen at a Mexican taberna. Occasionally breaking to listen to Bukowskis reflections and indulge further in the distinctively poignant trumpet.
A uniquely inspired mix of two sounds making something skillfully new. Taking a naughty beat that would rival the likes of modern-day DnB dubfathers Pendulum or the jazztastic beats of DnB mastermind Roni Size.
Ponchos and sombreros this aint as Bukowskis monotone yet controversial philosophies are ideal as the backbone for a beat and bass line as weighty as this.
