Akala Bit by Bit
Okay. Ive tried to write this on a number of occasions and I still cant seem to capture the essence of this striking offering from Miss Dynamiteheees younger brother.
Basically, this ones forging something of a new path for Grime coupling the genres lyrical rapidity and penchant for waspish phrases with bleepy sloshes of electronica. To give you a flavour, the B-sides been aided by the highly praised French Electro-House producer Baxter Baxter. With this in mind, we have something that panders to the melodic and textural virtues of electronica, while having its corners rounded by Akalas incisive word-spinning abilities.
The track itself is about the ever popular love/hate binary with particular attention paid to live in relationships. The free-play of the singles really quite exciting; a song with multiple lyrical and musical connotations doesnt seem to surface often these days and when it does, those ditties are frequently overlooked. Im hoping this ones different as its actually a very special track. The song alone forced a smile of merry intrigue to spring upon my lips surely its worth a go?
