COMPETITION: Lee Mead Masterpiece

When we caught up with 'Joseph' star Lee Mead, we couldn't let him go without first getting something signed for the fans. So, with a cheeky grin we gave him a blank canvas and one minute to create his very own masterpiece.
The lad did well... his forte may be song and dance but the result was a minimalistic gem that'd do Banksy proud!
For the chance to win Lee's self portrait, all you need to do is tell us the most memorable concert / show or gig you have ever been to. We're talking music, theatre or sport.
Leave your memories in the comments section and we'll choose one at random. Make sure you include your correct email address during the comment submission process so that we can contact you if you are the lucky winner.
Good luck... let those event-going memories FLOW. This competition closes at 5pm December 7th 2007.
In the meantime, check out our two part video interview with Lee Mead.

Friday 16th Nov.2007 Lee Mead gave us a show at the Adelphi that will stay in my mind forever. He was electric on stage. That is the only way to describe the interaction between Lee and his audience. I have seen the show before, but this night was so special. Voice, looks, acting, everything was wondrous.

What can I say? It has to be Joseph on Children In Need night. The atmosphere in the theatre was amazing and the whole cast seemed to be having a ball. Lee's performance was better than ever. Just everything about it was perfect.

The Mika concert two weeks ago. If I had the money I would come to London to see him again in december. What a show , what a performer! Do hope Lee will become that famous so he can come over here!

Hate to follow a pattern, but I have to agree that the best show I have ever seen was the Joseph show on Children in Need night - the atmosphere was absolutely amazing, and when Lee sang close every door it took my breath away! I had tears in my eyes! The rest of the cast were sensational as well - everyone was feeding off the crowd's energy!

Has to be Joseph. Wasn't lucky enough to go on CIN night but still brilliant when I went in October.

Well it would have to be the Joseph and the technicolor dreamcoat at the Adelphi for various reasons. Firstly being a huge fan of theatre and musicals I have always wanted to see shows at West End and Broadway. But having travelled quite a lot I only got the opportunity this year to see a show at the west end. And secondly, I love the songs in Joseph and also the story. The show had amazing energy and there is no better entertainment than a live show and I loved every second of it. Performance was excellent and they draw you into the story so beautifully, its a definite adrenalline rush!

i got to say it has to be joseph, in august this year. ive listened to my mums tape of the musical for years, its always been my favourite musical. then when i finally got to see it live, it was truely amazing, lee and the cast brought the music to life, i instantly fell in love with the story all over again.

There is a definite pattern developing here but I too loved Joseph. The atmosphere was electric and is Lee Mead catches you attention (which he does a lot), he is constantly acting and participating, even when not at the centre of the action. A skill not all actors have.

Although I loved Joseph and have been a couple of times (best West End show I've seen), I have to say the best ever was Bruce Springsteen, Wembley Stadium (the old one) in 1990(?). 4 hours on stage, with a short break in the middle, no support, just brilliant. I wasn't a fan before I went, and I can still take or leave his music, but the guy sure knows how to hold a crowd and puts on a helluva show. I saw Michael Jackson the week before (awful performance, forced, weak and very short - glad it was a freebie!), so The Boss made up for that for me.

Okay, I'm going to break trend and comment on the artwork. I think it's bril, the way you can see the undrawn portions of the outline of the face. That means everything else in in the proper proportion and the proper setting to create the illusion. Not as easy to do as it looks.
Something tells me from the drawing though, I think he's happy :)

The best show I have ever seen would be "The last night of the Proms" about 10 years ago. The atmosphere was difficult to describe, but unforgettable.

Time to be topical: Lee Mead at HMV yesterday! It was only two songs but Lee seemed to have a great time and so did we!

Now theatre performance would be Joseph, but concert would have to be Il Divo at Wembley last April - lighting and atmosphere was terrific!

Most memorable gig has to be the first one - Motorhead at Poole Arts Centre. I was 17; my neck ached from headbanging and my ears rang for days. Went backstage afterwards and snogged Lemmy. (And you would think that would have taught me a lesson but I still hang around stage doors!)

For me it has to be Lees' Debut concert at HMV Oxford St on 19th Nov.
I was standing about 6 feet away from him and he was superb. Really relaxed and comfortable with the crowd who were all enjoying his performance.Great voice, great derrier, and oh so lovelee!!!

Love Lee in Joseph - The best since I saw Buddy Holly ( the real, original!) as a very young teenager at Birmingham town hall. That dates me!!!

For me, the most memorable concert I have been to is Bon Jovi at Milton Keynes in 2006. I had golden circle tickets, a great view and the atmosphere was simply electric ... Rock concerts don't get much better than the band belting out Livin' on a Prayer and 60,000 people singing the lyrics back! Amazing!

It has to be when I saw Lee in Joseph in August. I came out of the theatre with a smile on my face that stayed there for days. My head was buzzing with the whole experience and I felt as if my life had a soundtrack as the songs were replaying in my head for ages.

I will never forget the magic of seeing Lee in Joseph on Press Night but my most memorable theatre trip was when my husband took me out of hospital down to London to see Barbra Streisand when she first came to London to star in "Funny Girl". I was very ill at the time and it was very expensive but I have never forgotten it.

20th June '04! Went to see Georgie Fame on Hampstead Heath, for a 'summers day' concert. As it was a 'Summers day' it promptly started raining, but that didn't dampen our spirits!!! Everyone was standing in bin bags with armholes and under various umbrellas, the atmosphere was amazing!!!

Guess it would help if I read the rules first, huh?
Most memerable concert I've been to recently was by a band called Something Underground. They'd recently had been to Cambodia for a land mine awareness tour and during one of their songs they showed clips from an animal hospital that treated wounded Elephants. Main point being, people cared.

It just HAS to be Lee In Joseph on Children In Need night. Lee held a captive audience in the palm of his hand that night with his amazing voice, the atmosphere was electric as it was a special performance and all the cast gave it their all. Both audience and cast were elated that night and it showed!

I'm guessing seeing as this is a Lee Mead comp that most people will put Joseph! I'm with the others - definitely Joseph at the Adelphi in August 2007. Lee was amazing!! My fiance took me for my birthday - best birthday present EVER!!!

I went to see Phantom of the Opera in Las Vegas 4 weeks ago and that should have been a highlight but although clever wasn't. Hoping best yet to come when see Lee in Joseph in less than 2 weeks time. Love the artwork. is there no end to his talents?

For me it has to be my first gig - The Herd on my local pier. I was totally in love with Peter Frampton. He was throwing bananas into the crowd for some strange reason and I caught one. I found it in my school bag a week or so later and it had grown a fungus. I love Lee even more than PF and would treasure the artwork more than that banana.

The best show I have seen is the Children in Need special show of Joseph.
I had seen Joseph before but this show was absolutely superb. The whole cast was so enthusiastic; the dancing, singing and acting so much better that it seemed a totally different show.
a really great night out that left me smiling for days.

Much as I love Lee, a stand out performance and atmosphere I've never forgotten was Squeeze in the Lees Cliff Hall in Folkestone a long time ago. Small, intimate and gritty, everyone singing along like we were in someone's lounge!

Ok, the most memorable show for me is from far back in my memory, around 23 years to be exact when I was about 10. I went to a production of Joseph and His Amazing Technicoloured Dreamcoat; I can't remember who was in it or even where it was staged but all I remember is being totally taken by the songs, the colour and the energy of the show; I fell in love and I got the Joseph bug!! I have since been to see various productions and have loved them all. I have sung the songs to my children and even named my son Joseph!

The most memorable show I saw was Lee in Joseph on the 15th of August. I cant stop singing the songs and I'm still talking about it all the time. Lee was fantastic! I wanted to cry at the end because it had finished!!!

There is no other concert/gig/show that has stuck in my mind as much as Joseph and his amazing technicoloured dreamcoat...i first saw the show on the 1st of september and wow it was amazing!! I have never seen so many great actors on stage at once. It was amazing. The energy they gave off, the skill and talent they showed the audience was fab!!! Obvousily Mr Lee Mead was the absolute star of the show and he really was... his voice was amazing and his smile lit up the stage. I didn't want to blink because i didn't want to miss a second of this great show.
So, without a doubt Joseph!! One of the best nights of my life, and it will stay with me forever.

Aside from seeing Lee in Joseph and at HMV (obviously), my most memorable event was seeing Robbie Williams at the MK Bowl. My hubby produced two tickets as a surprise Christmas pressie after I thought the event was sold out - well let's just hubby got lucky that Christmas morning!! It piddled down with rain during the open air concert but I couldn't have cared less - Robbie singing 'Angels' in the pouring rain is something I won't forget in a hurry.

Most memorable show was my very first Broadway musical over ten years ago. It was "The King and I" and I remember it as a shy quiet teen sitting in the audience and being overwhelmed with the splendor, beauty, and majesty of such a polished production. It really opened my eyes to the world of MT.

Yep you guessed it - Lee Mead in Joseph. We went in early August and had a fantastic time - the show itself was wonderful, but in addition the whole night I had with my friends was one we will remember for a long time. We had all been a bit down in the dumps - and after seing the show we were on such a high, laughed all the way home about things that probably werent' even funny - it's just that the show made us all feel so good, we were up dancing and singing and having a ball. I really wish I could put that night in a bottle and have a sip every time life gets a bit gloomy! Thanks Lee!!

Having not yet seen Joseph, the most memorable concert i've been to would have to be Mcfly!
On the 4th April this year, i luckily won a competition to work for Mcfly's Street Team. The job i had to do was help promote Mcfly buy handing out leaflets about their single at the time before they started to perform. In return me and 3 friends got to meet the boys personally which lasted about 10 mins and we each received front row tickets. The concert was in my home town which is a rare thing to have, and the atmosphere was electric. The energy Mcfly gave off to the crowd was great and they got the balance right between interacting with the crowd and performing their songs. Being front row we got to share personal moments with the band members while they were on stage as they could easily see what we were doing as we were stood 1 meter away from the stage as it was an Up Close and Personal Tour.
The memory will stay with me forever, as it was many dreams put into one day.

Well I have been to a couple of memorable concerts but the one who still stands out is a concert by Paul McCartney in Rotterdam, Holland about 15 years ago I think. It was the first concert I went to were the ages of the audience varied between 15-75 . I didn't expect anything from the concert but O boy, was I surprised. The atmosphere was great and at the end when we were waiting for a encore the entire hall started singing "let it be" instead of the normal "we want more". That was a moment I will never forget. It felt like we all were one in that moment.

I saw Joseph when it was first performed and it has stayed with me all this time, then I saw PS and I remembered it all over again, but I am in total awe of LM. He is so entrancing, I have seen twice and will definitely be going again. Best concert: Black Sabbath with OO.

Most memorable concert: Duran Duran at Wembley Arena, 1981. Third row from front, my first ever pop concert, magic.
Most memorable sporting event: Great Britain winning Gold in Eindhoven and promotion to pool A of the Ice-Hockey World Championships. My throat has never been the same since!
Most memorable Theatre experience: November 14th 2007, Adelphi. Lee Mead was simply stunning.

Jerry Herman Gala for Friday Night is Music Night. John Barrowman, Clarke Peters, Maria Friedman - outstanding. The roof nearly came off the theatre! The whole show was awesome. Lee, obviously, on Children in Need Night - this time the floor could have given way with the energy, not just of the cast but the audience as well - both will take some beating.

Favourite show - Lee Mead as Joseph. I saw the show in July on his birthday and again in September - absolutely brilliant.
Favourite sporting occasion/gig - Croke Park, Dublin, June 21st 2003, Opening Ceremony of the Special Olympics World Summer Games. So many celebrities and dignitaries but the real stars were the athletes. When Bono led Nelson Mandela onstage to declare the Games officially open it really was midsummer magic.

Would have to be when I saw Joseph back on Oct 29th 2004 - I remember the date as it was my birthday and Darren Day played Joseph. It was a fantastic show and I even got to see Lee Mead as he was playing the Pharoah. After the show I got my programme signed by Darren, had a photo with him and got a birthday kiss from him as well. He was really friendly and it was a great day. Have to admit though that Lee is my favourite Joseph now of course!!!!

My most memorable show was on 14th November when I saw Joseph at the Adelphi. I was unable to take my eyes off Lee. I laughed at the brothers and sang along with Pharoah/Elvis, but Lee totally took my attention whenever he was on stage. Even my husband, who up until this point was definitely a musical theatre fan thought the show was fantastic! I can't wait to go again in February.

For Theatre it has to be Joseph with the magnificent Mr Lee Mead. The best concert I have been to, was Take That at Birmingham Arena, I had waited years to see them perform and words cannot describe how out of this world the show was.

Apart from Lee in Joseph of course, it was my first concert - the Beatles in Brighton in 1963. We sat in the 6th row of the stalls and screamed our heads off, as did everyone else. No one could hear a thing!

It would have to be 1st August 2003. Robbie Williams at Knebworth. The first night of three at Knebworth. We got there at about midday and had a few drinks in the afternoon while watching Kelly Osbourne, The Darkness and Ash. Then Robbie appeared upside down with the intro to Let Me Entertain You playing. Didn't stop jumping up and down all the way through. Angels was fantastic on the shoulders of my mate. Will never forget being there that day ever!!

Watching Lee Mead anywhere,
any time makes me feel young again but most memorable performance must be West Side Story with the original American cast in the West End, sitting in a box when I was 16. Followed by a Don McLean concert in Birmingham in the early 70s, covered me in goose bumps!

David Bowie-Ziggy StardustTour September 1972. I was almost 16,wearing the tiniest purple silk hotpants and purple suede and snakeskin platforms. I was so excited and totally absorbed in the whole theatrical experience that was Ziggy. My friend and I squeezed to the front and got lost in the magical atmosphere. At the end of the concert David threw roses into the crowd. A single leaf floated down and stuck to my forehead,I was on cloud nine for days. Now,skip forward 35 years,I still have the leaf but would never in a milion years of thought this old bird could have an even more intense experience. How wrong I was! I saw Joseph in October and I was 16 again. I was sooo excited beforehand, mesmerised by Lee's beautiful voice and stage presence during and have'nt stopped talking about it since! I visited my Mum just after getting back and was (I thought)calmly telling her all about my trip. After a little while she stopped me mid sentence, gave me the biggest hug, smiled and said "here's my teenager back". My account took her right back to when I arrived home after the Bowie concert! Difference is I am still talking about it! So thankyou Mr Mead for making me feel 16 again!

Much as I have loved every Joseph show I have been to so far (too many to admit to here), my most memorable concert ever has to have been all those years ago at university (1985) when The Pogues came to our college summer ball. Being only 5'1, and anxious to see them up close, I ended up getting squashed up against the stage, unable to breathe. Next thing I knew, Shane MacGowan (lead singer, for you youngsters) was hauling me up onto the stage. He then sat me on the edge of the stage with the words "You'll not get so squished there, me darlin", and there I stayed for the rest of the show.
Wouldn't you pay a fortune for Lee to do the same now!!

Im just going to follow suit, and say Joseph! I waited a whole year to see the show, not knowing where i was going to be sat. Then when i finally got my tickets on the day i was 4 rows from the front! Brilliant! But little did i know that my day was to get even better. We got to the Adelphi at 5:15pm and there was rumours that Lee would be coming out to sign autographs. I waited right at the front for 30 mins and then out he came,it was fantastic. Then of course i had the show, it was absolutly fantastic, the energy in there was unreal every single cast member gave it there all! I have to say it's got to be the best day of my life so far!

The best show I've ever seen is Joseph, but it's so hard to pick one time because I've seen it so many times!I'm gonna pick seeing Joseph in London with Lee at the Adelphi,it was just fantastic! Being a Joseph fanatic, I already knew the show inside out but it still suprised me with new additions, like the talking snake! All the performances were top class and I loved every second. What made it extra special was that I'd performed in Joseph with Lee twice when he was playing Pharoah on the UK tour and it was amazing to now see him playing Joseph, and he sure was great at it! So thanks to Lee and the cast for an unforgettable show!

It would have to be Joseph for two reasons. Firstly Lee and the whole cast are absolutely superb. The second reason being that it was the first time my seven year old daughter had seen a West end show and the sheer wonder on her face was magical ! It was an unforgettable evening.

Seeing Lee Mead as Joseph was the most incredible night of my life. We were on the balcony at the top, right at the front and in the middle of the row. Those seats had to be the best in the house - no doubt about it. The second I saw Lee coming out onto the stage I cried and I cried all the way through the show. It was just so amazing. Lee's voice was so powerful, I cant explain it! The choreography was so energetic and the songs were sung with so much meaning. It was definately the best day of my life.

Joseph and the amazing technicolour dreamcoat was an absolutely amazing show and i will never forget it but another show that is extremely memorabale to me is the Donny Osmond concert that i went to. My mum said that she really wanted me to go with her, so i decided to, and i am so glad i did. The atmosphere in the arena was absolutely amazing, and everyone went crazy when he came out and their was such a big buzz during the whole show. The best part though had to be when Donny sung "Any dream will do" because the whole crowd joined in and was swaying along and it was just a sea of hands! And when he finished the whole audience stood and applauded him for what felt like ages! And you could tell he was really touched by that. All in all it was an amazing night and i am so glad i went!

My most memorable theatre experience to date (I haven't seen Joseph yet, but hopefully I will!) was the play 'Love Letters' at Wyndhams Theatre, London, in 1990, starring Robert Wagner and Stefanie Powers. Seeing them in the flesh was quite something, and the play was fabulous! To add to that, I got to meet them backstage afterwards!

Cute picture , and I see Lee captured the beaming smile that shines out whenever he steps onto a stage :)
Best gig experience ? Bryan Adams at Blickling Hall in the Summer of 2006. The weather was beautiful , the atmosphere eletric , and the unplugged encore set magic .
Best theatre experience? Hmm , that would have to be a toss up between seeing Stephanie Lawrence (sadly no longer with us ) as Mrs Johnstone in Blood Brothers all of 20 years ago now , and Lee himself in Joseph ...both outstanding performances , and both with an incredibly talented supporting cast .
Both shows thoroughly deserve the ovations at the end of every performance , but for leaving me filled with pure joy for several days afterwards , I'd have to go with Joseph :)

In 1981 I went to the Palladium to see Barnum - it's stuck in my mind for all these years because of the amount of fun the entire cast had on stage, but particularly Michael Crawford in the lead role - as well as all those tricks he had to learn!!! I'm so happy to say that I've re-discovered that level of joy that overflows into the audience with the current production of Joseph - Lee Mead has incredible stage presence, and every cast member commits to every performance with an enthusiasm that makes you want to get up on stage with them!!

To sum up all my emotions for Lee i wrote a poem:
Lee, dear Lee,
i think you're the best,
even though i might be,
a little too obsest!
with your curly brown hair,
tumbling down,
my legs just turn to jelly
when you're around!
you're not like any other celeb,
you're down to earth and quite shy,
and being yourself and own person,
i think you're the best in my eye,
so i come to say all the best,
for now and the future to come lee,
you make so many people smile and fill our hearts with glee.
hope you like it!

then jerico at the hammersmith apollo in 1989 - the curtain raised about 3 foot off the stage - you could see their feet, blinding white lighting and loads of dry ice and the music was pounding... that was it - I climbed over about 12 rows to mosh down the front - along with most of the audience - security didn't stand a chance, and I was deaf for a week - fantastic!

Whilst Joseph was a truly wonderful experience and one that I will be repeating I have to say that seeing Genesis at Roundhay Park in Leeds is my most memorable gig. It was a perfect warm summers evening and the atmosphere was buzzing with Genesis on top form. It was the sort of night that could never quite be matched.

This has to be the Spurs 1982 FA cup final id been taking a young boy who was in a wheelchair to as many Spurs matches as i could that season and he was overjoyed when Spurs reached the cup final. I managed to get tickets to sit in the disabled section and we counted the days to kick off. The day before Shaun suffered a massive fit and died utterly devastated my last thought was to go to the match but Shauns mum insisted it was what he would have wanted. I didnt see the goals through tears but when Spurs lifted the cup i know they did it for Shaun.

Well 'Joseph' was obviously the best theatre production I've ever seen - Lee Mead is a truly fabulous performer! As for concerts, I've been lucky enough to see lots of live acts, but seeing The Eurythmics on their Peace tour in Birmingham, 1999 was just awesome. Annie Lennox has a stunning voice and it penetrates deep down into your soul when you hear it live - when she started singing 'Here Comes The Rain Again' the whole crowd took over and sang it back to her ... the result was spine-tingling and I'll never forget it.

Has to be Joseph too I'm afraid, was lucky enough to be at press night and I have to say was the most magical night from start to finish. Thank you Lee for making us all so happy!!!

Although Lee was perfect when I saw him on my birthday 12 October.. the most memorable concerts for me personally are The Police at B'ham NEC in early 80's and also Duran Duran at B'ham Odeon in the very early 80's when I was a new romantic...x

The most amazing impromptu thing for me was being on Centre Court at Wimbledon and seeing an unscheduled match with Martina Navratilova competing for a record title.

Even though Lee is my idol and has been a huge influence in restoring my confidence to sing in public, I must say that the most fantastic even I have ever been to was when my local football team Southend (coincidentally, also Lee's local team!) faced Manchester United a year ago. The atmosphere in the stadium, Roots Hall, was absolutely electrice, and even though I am not a football fan it was amazing and eye opening seeing everyone united together in support for their local team. It was incredibly moving, as usually Southend is credited as being an incredibly volatile town where everybody hates one another and there are youths hanging about on the streets, but on this occasion thousands of people just came together and got on. Even if we hadn't won, it was the most amazing experience I have ever had. The fact that we DID win, and we were several leagues below Manchester United, perhaps brought everybody together even more. I am a very shy person around strangers, and the moment our goal was scored I jumped out of my seat and hugged firstly my brother (which is not something I usally do) and then the stranger sitting in the next seat. It was truly one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had in my life, and it reminded me that British people CAN put aside their differences and work together to support something they care about.

Apart from Lee in Joseph of course, my best gig was last Wednesday when I went to see an intimate gig with Michael Buble. It was at the Savoy in London and there was a Champagne reception, where I met the TV presenter Ben Shepherd and Neil Fox the DJ. Then a 3 course meal, which was yummy. We got a cool goodie bag which contained a £20 gift voucher and a signed Michael Buble CD. Michael was amazing. He has so much charisma and talked to the audience in between songs. He even joked that he was now going to sing Westlife's version of his song 'Home'. He sang all 3 of his big hits as well as the brilliant swing songs. I got to shake Michael's hand at the end of the show *faints*. One of the best nights of my life.

The first time I went to see Lee in Joseph on 28th August this year. I'd never seen the show before and I've never been a "fangirl" type before, but Wow I was blown away! I cried, laughed, screamed, cheared, clapped and generally went crazy, especially when Lee came up on that little plinth at the end and smiled right at me. The whole cast were brilliant too. Dean Collinson was a revelation. I've been a few times since and it's amazing every time, but that first occasion will always be special!

Took me about half a second to decide! Opening Night of Joseph, of course!!! Squished against the railing right at the front with my little girl, a nervous wait, autographs and close-up piccies of the rich and famous, rushing to our second row seat just in time for curtain-up, and then the moment I'd hoped and waited for since April; Lee descending from on high with an angelic beam surpassed only by my own, I think! The malfunctioning stage revolve, a few minutes of panic, but the show must go on... Close Every Door! Rivulets of torso sweat! Heart-breaking Any Dream Will Do reprise... all over far too soon! *sigh* Meady heaven!

Apart from seeing Lee in Joseph & at HMV,my most memorable concert would be seeing Genesis at Hammersmith Apollo back in 1979 (I think, so long ago).
Phil Collin's 10 minute drum solo was brilliant!!!

It would have to be "Joseph" on Children In Need night. I saw the show in July and it was fantastic then but there was terrific atmosphere in the Adelphi on CIN night. Lee Mead was superb. He had a huge grin on his face when he "descended" from the clouds at the start of the show and you could tell how much he was enjoying himself. His voice is wonderful and it just keeps getting better and better. The supporting cast were all great too, especially Dean Collinson, and the brothers are so funny (as well as being great singers and dancers. The only problem is it goes far too quickly! Lee gave a lovely speech at the end and then during the "Megamix" the cast were throwing Pudsey Bears into the audience. We had great seats in the dress circle and a wonderful view of Lee when he gets raised above the audience at the end of the show and he looked so happy. It was great that despite having to dash back to Television Centre for his second TV appearance of the evening, Lee still took the time to come out front to meet his fans and sign autographs. What a star!

21st. July, 2007. The first Saturday night of the Joseph run. The crowd went crazy, people were on their feet way before the end, Lee was unbelievable and it was truly the best show I've ever seen.

Tower of London Music Festival'06. I went to Jamie Cullum's gig. There was just this electric atmosphere. There was a perfect mix of romantic, slow songs that hung gorgeously in the summer heat and upbeat feel good numbers which left us dancing in the aisles. For one carnival themed song called 'London Skies', Jamie surprised us with an appearance from some carnival dancers! And I can't leave out the astounding showcase of talent from Jamie and his band, Jamie has an energy on stage that the audience pick up. I simply had the time of my life! :)

The pop concert I attended with my Mum and my Grandma in a theatre in Southend. It was the early 60s. The bill included Freddy and the Dreamers, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Billy J Kramer and the Dakotas and strangely Pearl Carr and Teddy Johnson. It was my first exposure to live pop music and I loved it. It has influenced the rest of my life, live music and live singing is one of the best experiences you can have.

I have yet to see Joseph (tickets for Jan 08) but until then my most memorable theatre experience is Rudolph Nureyev's Romeo and Juliet Ballet for the London Festival Ballet in 1977. I had never seen such a large theatre orchestra before and the sound of Prokofiev's score was dramatic and intense. It all starts with a plague cart lurching across the stage. The principals looked very young, it was perfect casting, yet they were required to do demanding choreography including one armed lifts that had the audience gasping. The attention to detail was amazing. Not a dry eye in the house at the end, stunned silence then a standing ovation and cheering as I've never heard since.
My most amazing concert was The Three Tenors in Bath in 2003. I won free tickets in the ballot and will never forget seeing them in the beautiful setting of The Royal Crescent on a warm summer night. I had recordings of all of them so it was a dream to see them live. Voices of bronze, silver and gold with The Royal Philharmonic and massed choirs. When we all sang William Blake's 'Jerusalem' at the end the sky was exploding with gold and red fireworks to match the words 'burning gold' and 'chariot of fire'.

Much as I love Lee my best concert ever was Robbie at Knebworth. The last night of 3 on a perfect August day. We arrived at 8.00am and got home around 4.00am the following morning. It was baking hot the whole time. We were in the front enclosure. It was so loud I vibrated for a week afterwards. The energy there was something else.

Ok, I am not sure I should be admitting this but one of the most memorable concerts (not exactly the best!) I have been to was the very first concert I saw and it was Five Star!! They played the Hammersmith Apollo and it must be about twenty years ago now but they were fab!! All shiny suits and sparkles! I remember standing on the red velour seats so we could see them abit better!! My shameful secret is now out in the open!!

Most memorable show was the original Joseph with Jason Donovan playing the lead at the London Palladium...has to be said I was 12 years old and had a huge crush on the neighbours star - suffice to say as soon as Lee Mead won the starring role I booked tickets to go see it again and now at the age of 28 have another huge crush! Hee Hee, it makes me feel 12 again when I think back to the night I went to see Joseph and saw Lee Mead afterwards outside the theatre, when he signed my programme and gave me a peck on the cheek...he made my day!!!

It has to be Joseph with Lee! The energy and charisma he exudes when he performs swells through the audience and creates an unforgettable experience in musical theatre. I have seen shows where frankly I've been bored, but Lee as Joseph is light years beyond such productions. The only down side of course is not being able to keep going back for more.

I saw Lee in Joseph in September and he was gorgeous and the show was excellent and the sight of him in that loincloth was definitely memorable, however my most memorable concert would have to be REM headlining at the South Africa Freedom Day concert in Trafalgar Square in 2001. Although it was cold, some of the support acts were pretty dire ( sorry ) and the whole show ground to a temporary halt when the boarding over the fountains collapsed, when REM stepped onto the stage the atmosphere was electric, and as always they were utterly fantastic.

I have been a Joseph fan for 20 years but have to say that Lee Mead is by far the best, I saw the show in October, what a star he has a fantastic voice and stage presence I was totally mesmerised couldn't keep my eyes off him and can't wait to see the show again. Fav concert has to be Duran Duran back in the early 80's.

The best concert has to be last Year, June 18th Take That at the City of Manchester Stadium! It was just such good fun and they did a really great live show with all the old favourite songs in there, something for everyone, a real fun filled day out. Even the rain couldn't spoil it.

Like so many others it has to be Lee in Joseph. My family and I saw him in September and he was absolutely fantastic! My other favourite memory of a concert was seeing Michael Ball in November 1996. I had just returned to work after 2 months off with a threatened miscarriage, and during the concert I felt my baby move for the first time. She obviously enjoyed the music and at 10 years old is now a talented flautist. And Michael was great too!

I am 13 years old and my most memorable show was on 27th July 2007. It was my 13th birthday and I was staying with my Auntie and Uncle in London. Me, my mum, my sister and my Dad were going to go out for dinner in London in the evening. As we walked past the Adelphi theatre I said to my mum "I am dying to see that show!" She smiled and promised me we'd go to see it one day! We walked a few paces past the theatre and my mum and dad stopped and pulled out some tickets to go and see Joseph that very night! I was so shocked I burst into tears and couldn't speak! It was the best day of my life and no matter what I will never forget that night! It was the best day of my life and I thank my Mum and Dad so much for everything! XXXXXxxxxxxxxxx

I went and saw joseph on 26th feb, i was dying to see it, as right from lee's first audition for the contest, i was dying for him to win, and go see him. In the past i had been in a joseph show, and had seen it many times, but this time was the best, i mean it. And afterwards i got to meet him, face to face, but this time, i would just like to win the competition, then i can see the show, and him again, without anyone pushing past. I will never forget Lee, or the show, he is the best out of the rest!!!!!
