Slash did it... Eric Clapton did it.... hell, even Jimi Hendrix did it.
No you dirty scoundrels, we're not talking 'flash' in the birthday suit sense - we're talking red hot, finger straining, ear bending guitar solos. Now, thanks to the crazy sods at Flashmob, us mere civillians get a chance to strutt our stuff: AIR GUITAR style.
London's Denmark Street is packed full of music stores and on Monday November 12th, a flash mob will be held to coincide with the launch of `Mothership' by Led Zeppelin.
Here's the Flashmob speel:
"What we're trying to do here is to get as many people as possible to turn up at Denmark Street on that day at 12:00pm, armed with a guitar (or air guitar!) and (ideally) a baby guitar amp to play along to Stairway to Heaven, which will be blasting out of a stereo in the middle of the street!! Once the song finishes, everyone disappears from the scene.
It's likely it will be filmed too, so watch out if you are slipping out of work for this one ;)
Members from a number of UK tribute bands are also expected to make an appearance and the lot from the Air Guitar Nation movie (including some of the stars!) are getting involved as well. Led Zep and Air Guitar Nation goodies will be given out on the day.
www.SUMO.tv will also be filming and putting it up on the flashmob section of the site at http://www.sumo.tv/flashmob It will also be going out on air on SUMO.tv on sky channel 144 that evening.
