BLAKE Yo Te Voy A Amar
Review by Jamie Stangroom
Ill tell you now this reviewers cup of tea, this is not, and if music can be compared to tea then Blakes debut effort is probably enough to put me off any kind of brew for life. So staying on the subject of tea, if I was to stereotype certain blends and their consumers then this particular brand, or band, would possibly suit the Earl Grey brigade. So considering this association it would be difficult for me to wash my hands of Blake completely, actually its more like Ive rubbed soap in my hands but not yet rinsed it; because granted music of this genre does have an audience and whilst Ill be sure to rinse the soap from my ears I can't deny that this band will probably be a success and be the soundtrack to many Earl Grey binging sessions, my Mum seems to like it anyway

I think the review is right in that there is an older generation that will like some of this music, but having bought the album last week (I'm a mother of 35 by the way) I've found a huge amount to enjoy in the more popular tracks - Yo Te Voy Amar isn't their best track, don't know why its a single - Halleluyah would have been better, its very moving indeed. Anyhow, I think these guys will do well, they have good voices, which is what matters on music like this. Debbie.
