INTERVIEW: Scouting For Girls

Chatting to the lads from Scouting For Girls is like sitting down with your brother and his mates at the pub. These guys are as down to earth as it gets - which is surprising really, but that's one of the plus sides of chatting to a band who have just begun to surf the wave of success. The addictive sound of 'She's So Lovely' is still ringing in our ears and already a new single is upon us.

"Elvis Ain't Dead" is the second single to be taken from the band's debut album, "Scouting For Girls" released in September. Seatwave caught up with Roy, Greg and Peter to chat about the whereabouts of Elvis, the attention they get from the laaaadies and their most memorable gig experiences ever. They even drew a self portrait for our Scouting For Girls competition. Talented sods.

I think Scouting For Girls performance at Portsmouth Wedgewood was the most incredible gig I've ever been to. Everything about it was perfect. The atmosphere, the crowd response, the music, everything. I don't think you could top a gig like that. I'd personally advise anyone who hasn't see them, to see them as soon as possible.

I say the best concert I was ever at was dare I say Girls Aloud in the Olympia Theatre Dublin as it was the first live concert I ever went to and the whole experience and the buzz of the crowds going wild was brilliant! I always wanted to go to see Scouting for Girls when they came to Ireland and this year the wait is over as there playing Whelans in Dublin but the only problem is its over 18's :( suppose i'll have to keep waiting!

I would have to say my favourite gig was watching Oasis in Newcastle. It was my first ever live concert and for it be Oasis, was fantasic. The atmosphere was immense, and it is one I will not forget. They sang 'Wonderwall' and 'Whatever' which are my two favourite Oasis songs, so it just made the night great! :D

It has to be seeing Scouting For Girls at Club Voltaire in Edinburgh last August. The place was packed,an infectious joyousness was in the air, and I knew I was witnessing a phenomenal band on the verge of super stardom. It was like one big toe tapping-clapping- singalong fest with a bunch of your mates. There was so much goodwill and merriment! It was so much fun!The highlight was when Roy stopped midsong during "Michaela Strachan broke my heart when I was 12".. and said "You're laughing at my pain".. Hilarious!I smiled all the way home! And all of the next day too!

sorry i think im late but i have no idea what the date is. my most memoriable gig was scouting for girls in cambridge the day before this interview took place lol what a coincidence. it was soo memorable because afterwards i got to meet them and i showed them i drawing i had done of Roy and they really liked it and took photos and signed it, apparently he put it on his phone afterwards lol. and the the actual gig was amazing aswell although i was soo happy and amazed i can't really remember most of it (i was drunk or anything lol), they came on to the james bond theme tune and it was just soo magical and amazing. i wouldn't stop talking about them for ages and people still get annoyed whenever i mention them or sing a song of theirs.SORRY IF ITS LATE. The best gig(well festival) I have ever been to was the BBC Radio 1 Big weekend. Madonna, Usher, The Feeling, Duffy, Robyn, The Hoosiers and many more performed........BUT Scouting For girls blew me away and were deffinately the best band there. Their entrace of James Bond was Magical and really brough the crowd alive. They also got the whole crowd singing along to 'Shes so Lovely' 'Elvis aint dead' 'It's not about you' and 'Heartbeat'. Thank you Alice xxxx
