The Foals are a crashing mix of dirty Pop and infectious Rock. Keep your beady eyes out for them this year. As one of the most hotly tipped bands of 2008, things are on the brink of really kicking off.
The Foals came in at number five in the BBC’s hugely respected Sound of 2008 poll, compiled by one hundred and fifty critics and broadcasters from the UK music scene, not to mention amidst the top-three ‘Critic’s Choice’ in the new artists categories for this year’s Brits, alongside Adele and Duffy, who has just recently hit the number one spot!
Their debut album, Antidotes, is to be released March 24th.
The brand new single Cassius is further evidence of Foals’ remarkable talent as songwriters with another slice of beat and hook-driven pop set to win hearts, minds and dancing feet.
Cassius is fast song that will have you singing after the first line. It combines a magnetic poppy Indie vibe with some fast paced guitar and ridiculousy infectious lyrics.
The year culminated in a brief appearance on Channel 4’s Skins, an appearance on BBC2’s Later with Jools Holland and an arena tour with Bloc Party.
This is a band that have created music for everything and anything, whenever and wherever. Crank them up at a party, wreck the speakers to them on a Sunday night or jam to them in the gym. Whatever you do, do it loud.
Foals tour the UK in March 2008, and will also visit Japan, Australia, USA and Europe in the first half of this year.
