Geez, are Elbow really that great? The band is starting to sound like the kid at school who always got top marks no matter what piece of work they submitted. You know the type - the teacher's pet who couldn't put a plimsoll-clad foot wrong.
The bands fourth album, The Seldom Seen Kid (released on 17 March), has received rave reviews and they are the only band in history to get 9/10 four times in the NME. Now there's a group of headmasters you wouldn't want to p*** off. They don't use the cane anymore; that lot belt bands with words and star ratings.
In an interview with BBC 6 Music, Elbow revealed plans to play their new album in full, in gigs around the world. In Guy Garvey's very own words:
I think the way we are gonna do it is were gonna tour the UK and the States and Europe.
And then when weve done that, were gonna play the whole album as a show. Im not sure where yet but a couple of mayor cities per country perhaps but eventually well play the whole of the album as a continual show.
That's just plain sucking up.
