COMPETITION: Nigel Kennedy

Nigel Kennedy
July 19th, Royal Albert Hall

In April 2008, Nigel Kennedy - quite possibly the most talked-about classical musician in the world - released a new album. Nigel Kennedy turned the Classical music scene on its head in the late 1980s with a ground-breaking recording of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons which sold SIX million copies worldwide. He remains the best-selling international Classical violinist of all time and for this new album has recorded the Beethoven Violin Concerto and coupled it with a Mozart violin concerto, both recorded with the Polish Chamber Orchestra.

For over twenty five years, Nigel Kennedy has been acknowledged as one of the world's leading violinists. With his virtuosic technique, unique talent and natural ability to communicate with his audience, he has brought fresh perspectives and new audiences to Classical music.

Now, undeterred by having reached his early 50s, Kennedy is still every bit the non-conformist bad boy of classical music with his trademark Mohawk hairstyle, designer stubble and sunglasses.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Nigel Kennedy tickets for the Royal Albert Hall gig are now unavailable. We can, however, offer the winner two tickets to his album launch at the Jazz Café on the 16th June, so keep those entries coming in thick and fast!

To enter our competition, please answer the following question:

Which instrument is Nigel Kennedy famous for:

A)Violin
