Mugison
Corsica Studios, Elephant and Castle.
Review By Stacey Williamson
Hidden in the grimy back streets of Elephant and Castle lies Corsica Studios, which is where Icelandic band Mugison made an eagerly anticipated UK debut.
This intimate venue was the perfect place for Mugison to show off their talents, and these guys arent just musically talented girls - if you catch my drift!
Much to the joy of the females in the audience, Mugison dedicated Jesus is a Good Name to Moan to all the ladies in the house. This track was a heady smouldering fusion with awesome heavy crescendos.
With three albums under the belt, Mugison will no doubt be a hit after their cool UK set.
Usually playing as a one man band with a guitar and a laptop, Mugison was joined by some of the most amazing drumming Ive ever come across, accompanied by guitar, bass and key boards. These boys oozed that Rock and Roll vibe and expelled endless amounts of energy.
With superb vocals, Mugison really pelted it out - this guy shrieks of vibrancy and raw talent.
With an open bar, the vino flowed freely, which leads me to the comment of my tipsy colleague; Am I drunk, or is this guy really good!? to the rapturous reply of Hes REALLY good!
However, you dont need to be inebriated to see that Mugison simply rock!
Mugiboogie is the lastest album and is available to buy in all good record shops.
