Queens English
EQ is the new album from London hip-hop five-piece Queens English.
Review by Allana Cutter
It takes a while to get into, and though it consists of seventeen tracks, the first six songs arent particularly gripping in any way, though are each well produced in themselves. By the time you get to track seven, Back Good and track ten, Triple, you are slightly more drawn in by a funky bass line and a more appealing beat.
The lyrics are patriotic throughout, and touch upon subjects such as taxes and the government, and surviving hard times through music. The vocals from Source are well complimented by those supplied from other members of the band and their collaborators.
On a personal level I dont see myself listening to this album for more than a few weeks, however Im sure that long-term hip-hop and urban fans will very much appreciate this contribution to the UK hip-hop scene.
